Automate LinkedIn with Hermes

Hand Hermes one brief and it plans the whole week: drafting LinkedIn posts, scheduling them at the right times and reporting back when the queue is full.

Quick start

Install the CLI where Hermes executes commands, then hand over the LinkedIn plan in plain language.

Terminal
npm install -g postqueen
export POSTQUEEN_API_KEY=your_api_key

# A task for Hermes:
# "Plan next week on LinkedIn: draft five
# posts, schedule them and list
# what you queued"

What Hermes can run on LinkedIn

One brief, a full LinkedIn plan

Hermes breaks a goal into steps on its own: draft the posts, upload media, schedule each one and report back with what it queued for LinkedIn.

Windows that fit LinkedIn

Tell Hermes when your followers are most active and it schedules posts into that window on LinkedIn, day after day, without reminders.

Media attached, sized right

Images upload in the same postqueen call, so LinkedIn posts arrive with their media in place instead of a bare link.

Drafts until you are ready

Ask Hermes for drafts only. They sit on the postqueen calendar unscheduled, so you can edit them and pick the time yourself, and nothing reaches your followers on LinkedIn until you do.

Three steps to a full queue

Step 1

Discover LinkedIn

Hermes calls postqueen to list your connected profiles and company pages and sees what LinkedIn supports, so drafts start from real capabilities, not guesses.

Step 2

Draft with Hermes

Give it the brief. The agent writes LinkedIn-shaped posts and proposes publish times that match when your followers are around.

Step 3

Check and publish

Look over the queue on the postqueen calendar and change anything you want. postqueen publishes each post at its time, and Hermes can pull the results after.

What LinkedIn allows

Hermes reads these limits from postqueen before it composes, so a draft that would be rejected never reaches the queue.

Post length
Up to 3,000 characters per post
Images
Up to 9 images in a multi-image post
Video
Up to 10 minutes and 5 GB per native video
Image aspect ratios
From 1.91:1 landscape to 1:1 square and 4:5 portrait
Destinations

Frequently asked questions

How does Hermes connect LinkedIn to postqueen?

Install the postqueen CLI where Hermes runs commands and export your API key. Every command returns JSON, so the agent can create, schedule and list LinkedIn posts reliably.

Can Hermes schedule LinkedIn posts at exact times?

Yes. Give it exact slots or a rule like mornings at nine and it sets publish times on the posts it creates, so your followers see them at the right moment.

Will Hermes publish to LinkedIn on its own?

Only if you ask it to. Tell it to save drafts and nothing is scheduled: the posts wait on the calendar until you set a time. Tell it to schedule, and they go out at the times you can see, which is the setup most people move to once they trust the output.

Can one brief cover LinkedIn and other channels too?

Yes. postqueen connects 30 channels, so Hermes can turn the same brief into LinkedIn posts plus adapted versions for every other channel you run.

Does Hermes access cost extra on postqueen?

No. The agent uses your regular API key and plan limits: unlimited posts on every plan, and channel counts from 5 on Creator up to uncapped on Ultimate.

Can I schedule to both a personal profile and a company page?

Yes. Connect your profile plus any company page where you hold an admin role, then choose the destinations per post. Founders usually run both with slightly different wording on each, since the identical text twice reads like a copy and paste.

Can the AI write LinkedIn posts?

Yes. The assistant drafts posts in your voice, tightens them to fit the 3,000 character limit and rewrites anything you highlight. Nothing publishes until you schedule it, and agents like Claude Code or Cursor can prepare a batch through the built-in MCP server.
