Automate Reddit with Claude Code

Queue Reddit posts from your terminal. Claude Code drives postqueen over MCP or the CLI, so scheduling happens in the session you already have open.

Quick start

Register the postqueen MCP server once and Reddit scheduling becomes a tool Claude Code can call. The plain CLI works too.

What Claude Code can run on Reddit

Reddit tools in your terminal

Over MCP, scheduling and analytics show up as first-class tools. Over the CLI, every command returns JSON that Claude Code can chain reliably for Reddit.

Windows that fit Reddit

Tell Claude Code when your subreddits are busiest and it schedules posts into that window on Reddit, day after day, without reminders.

Community rules respected

Claude Code targets the exact subreddits you choose and keeps every submission reviewable, so you can check each one against community rules first.

Drafts until you are ready

Ask Claude Code for drafts only. They sit on the postqueen calendar unscheduled, so you can edit them and pick the time yourself, and nothing reaches your community members on Reddit until you do.

Three steps to a full queue

Step 1

Discover Reddit

Claude Code calls postqueen to list your connected subreddits and sees what Reddit supports, so drafts start from real capabilities, not guesses.

Step 2

Draft with Claude Code

Give it the brief. The agent writes Reddit-shaped posts and proposes publish times that match when your community members are around.

Step 3

Check and publish

Look over the queue on the postqueen calendar and change anything you want. postqueen publishes each post at its time, and Claude Code can pull the results after.

What Reddit allows

Claude Code reads these limits from postqueen before it composes, so a draft that would be rejected never reaches the queue.

Frequently asked questions

How does Claude Code connect Reddit to postqueen?

Over MCP, registered once in Claude Code's own config so the Reddit tools are there in every session. It also runs commands, so the CLI covers the same Reddit posts when you would rather script them; both use the same API key.

Can Claude Code schedule Reddit posts at exact times?

Yes. Give it exact slots or a rule like mornings at nine and it sets publish times on the posts it creates, keeping your subreddits active on a steady rhythm.

Will Claude Code publish to Reddit on its own?

Only if you ask it to. Tell it to save drafts and nothing is scheduled: the posts wait on the calendar until you set a time. Tell it to schedule, and they go out at the times you can see, which is the setup most people move to once they trust the output.

Can one brief cover Reddit and other channels too?

Yes. postqueen connects 30 channels, so Claude Code can turn the same brief into Reddit posts plus adapted versions for every other channel you run.

Does Claude Code access cost extra on postqueen?

No. The agent uses your regular API key and plan limits: unlimited posts on every plan, and channel counts from 5 on Creator up to uncapped on Ultimate.

When is the best time to post on a subreddit?

Each community has its own rhythm, so watch when discussion actually happens in your target subreddit and schedule into those windows. postqueen publishes at the exact minute you choose, which makes overnight slots for communities in other timezones painless.

Can I post the same content to several subreddits?

Yes, select multiple subreddits and tweak each submission before it goes out. Rewrite the title for each community and space submissions apart, since identical rapid posts read as spam to both moderators and Reddit's filters. The same idea can also go to Lemmy communities from the same composer.
